Founded in 2009 by Gaëtan Bouchet, Serge L’Ecluse and Josiane Bellerose, with support from IBL’s Human Capital team, the Retirees’ Circle began as a way for former colleagues to stay connected after work life. From three founders, the group has grown to 150 members from across the Group. “From the start, colleagues who were retiring responded enthusiastically, and more joined over time,” recalls Serge L’Ecluse, who has served nine terms as president and spent forty years at IBL. He will hand over leadership in January 2026.
“We look forward to every gathering,” says Monique Lecordier Bosquet, secretary of the Circle and a former IBL employee for 38 years. Each year includes trips, workshops, and talks. The end-of-year lunch, full of laughter and connection, remains a highlight. And yet what matters most to members isn’t the events themselves, but the sense of belonging they experience.
For its members, the Circle also helps maintain a connection to IBL, which supports the association financially, ensuring a vibrant programme throughout the year. “We still follow the Group’s news with pride,” says Serge. Hubert Gaspard, IBL’s Group Chief People Officer, adds, “Supporting this Circle is our way of saying thank you to those who helped shape IBL’s story. Our retirees will always be part of the family.”
