IBL has supported the fifth edition of ‘Un incroyable Noël’, an initiative led by 1000 Sourires in Réunion island, which gives two children from modest backgrounds in Réunion the opportunity to enjoy an extraordinary trip.

The two beneficiaries of this edition, Darel (9 years old) and Maïza (10 years old), took off for Mauritius for an exciting trip from 8 to 18 December. One of the highlights was a day at Île aux Cerfs, where they enjoyed the beach, explored the lagoon and tried golf for the first time.

During their visit, the children were warmly welcomed at IBL House, where they enjoyed a festive gathering with Christmas-themed stories, activities, and gifts. They were joined by Athéna (8 years old) and Alexandro (11 years old), two children from Bois Marchand who are supported by the Fondation Joseph Lagesse, making the moment even more special.

“Our purpose, ‘Shaping better lives and better tomorrows. Together’, is reflected in concrete actions. ‘Un incroyable Noël’ is a wonderful example of this. By supporting this initiative and welcoming these children, we are also strengthening the bond between Mauritius and Réunion Island and reaffirming our role in the region, particularly with our sister island, where we have a strong presence,” said Arnaud Lagesse, Group CEO of IBL.

Ibrahim Ingar, President of 1000 Sourires, added: “‘Un incroyable Noël’ gives these children the opportunity to enjoy magical experiences and make meaningful encounters, without knowing in advance what awaits them. We are delighted to have been able to bring them to Mauritius this year thanks to IBL’s support. It is a wonderful connection between our two islands.”

The children’s experience was shared with a wider audience through a one-hour special broadcast in prime time on Réunion La 1ère on Thursday 25 December, celebrating an initiative built on kindness, generosity and human connection.
