wiiv enters a new era

BusinessInnovation

wiiv’s recent revamp marks a new stage in the platform’s evolution. Designed to strengthen connections across the IBL brand ecosystem, the app  is positioning itself as much more than a traditional loyalty programme. We spoke with Cécile Masson Henry, Head of Marketing, Loyalty and Sustainability at Winners, to learn more about wiiv’s new capabilities and long-term potential.

Since its launch in 2019, wiiv has established itself as one of the country’s leading loyalty programmes. It now counts around 260,000 members, representing more than a third of Mauritius’ active population, across brands including Winners, MedActiv, Ala-lila and The Lux Collective.

The redesigned app reflects the Group’s ambition to deepen engagement with its consumer base while better supporting everyday needs. “We wanted to increase usage and strengthen engagement by improving the user experience,” explains Cécile. “The platform is now more intuitive, dynamic and engaging, with several new services integrated into the experience.”

Everyday usefulness at the core

The result is a smoother platform designed to make daily shopping simpler and more practical. Winners, whose teams manage wiiv internally, is the first to benefit from the rollout of its new features: special offers, the option to prepare shopping lists in advance and an expanded points balance. “The prices displayed are updated daily, allowing users to better plan their shopping according to both their budget and loyalty points,” Cécile explains. “This brings more convenience and offers peace of mind, and reflects our commitment to supporting Mauritians in a more challenging economic environment.”

Other major additions include in-store product scanning to streamline checkout preparation, as well as access to detailed purchase history through the app.

Innovation driving smarter consumption

The new wiiv app is the first platform of its kind in Mauritius’ food retail sector. Developed by Réunion-based agency Squirrel and drawing on expertise already deployed through Run Market in Réunion Island, the platform combines regional experience with local ambition.

Now powered by a more agile in-house back-end, wiiv can evolve more rapidly by integrating new features, services and partnerships over time.

The next step is clear: building shopping experiences that are increasingly aligned with consumer expectations and everyday realities. wiiv’s new evolution is another step in that direction.
