In December, IBL actively engaged in several social initiatives through Fondation Joseph Lagesse, mobilising its teams to provide hands-on support and practical assistance to families and children benefiting from the Foundation’s social programmes.
The month-long efforts concluded on 22 December with the distribution of food hampers to families in need across the regions of Batterie Cassée, Baie-du-Tombeau and Bambous. This distribution was made possible thanks to the dedication of field workers affiliated with Fondation Joseph Lagesse, demonstrating IBL’s commitment to tangible, on-the-ground support.
Ahead of the distribution, employees from IBL’s Head Office volunteered on 17 and 18 December to pack the food hampers. This volunteering followed the Social Engagement Day held on 10 December, a special event that raised awareness among employees and gave them the opportunity to better understand the realities faced by the communities supported by the Foundation and to actively contribute through various forms of assistance.
The Social Engagement Day also inspired employees at IBL’s Head Office to volunteer, taking part in both short-term projects and longer-term initiatives. Fondation Joseph Lagesse maintains a strong relationship with the communities of Batterie Cassée, Baie-du-Tombeau, and Bois Marchand, supporting them through educational programmes and community development activities.
Moving forward, volunteers from IBL will continue their work on the ground, collecting data and engaging directly with communities to shape future programmes tailored to local needs in education, health and community wellbeing.

This work builds on our initiative Les Cuisines Solidaires, which focuses on ensuring access to responsible food every day,” said Murielle Adelson, Social Projects and Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator at Fondation Joseph Lagesse.
Through the initiatives carried out by Fondation Joseph Lagesse, IBL reaffirms its commitment to fostering a more inclusive and supportive society. By building on the Foundation’s work, the Group seeks to strengthen the impact of its actions and respond directly to the needs of the communities it serves.
