For its 14th edition, dedicated to the inclusion of persons with disabilities, IBL on the Move once again brought together athletes, employees and families around a sporting and solidarity-driven initiative that has become an important annual rendez-vous in Mauritius.
On Saturday 18 April, 1,338 participants gathered at Azuri Ocean & Golf Village to run in support of APEIM and its project Callithea, a café that helps young adults with intellectual disabilities develop professional skills that support their long-term integration into the workplace.
Thanks to registration fees and the support of sponsors, Rs 1 million was raised to contribute to the development of this project.
Among the highlights of the event was the participation of 10 beneficiaries from APEIM and 10 children from Nou Zenfan Bois Marchand School in the 6 km race, made possible through the support of Bloomage.

“We are truly delighted to have seen so many people come together in support of APEIM and causes that matter to Mauritian society. This 14th edition of IBL on the Move was a powerful moment of inclusion and togetherness – values that are deeply important to the IBL Group. We thank all participants, partners and volunteers for their commitment and hope that the funds raised will help APEIM bring its project to life,” said Claire Coulier, Head of Communications at IBL Group.
Timothy Nootoo, Project Manager at APEIM, said: “The Callithea project supports young adults with intellectual disabilities in their transition to employment by connecting skills development with the realities of the job market. More than a café, Callithea is a space that values their abilities and helps change perceptions.”
In his message of thanks to the organisers, he added: “The support of Fondation Joseph Lagesse and IBL Group is essential in strengthening this project and providing quality training aligned with values of inclusion and lasting impact.”
This edition was supported by sponsors including AfrAsia Bank, Crystal, DTOS, Eagle Insurance, UBP, BrandActiv, Starbalm, CMH, Malta and Azuri.
